Powderham Castle is a truly majestic place to hold your wedding reception. The Castle, built in 1392, is set amidst a beautiful deer park with breathtaking views across the Exe Estuary. The Castle rooms are splendid. The Music Room, Dining Room and Libraries were originally built to create an impression and designed for lavish entertaining – they still create a very memorable setting today.  The Music Room is light and airy, with a wonderful domed ceiling. The Dining Room has an exceptionally warm and welcoming atmosphere and has both a fireplace and minstrels gallery that can be used by wedding couples. The Libraries are elegant and very impressive, making it difficult to choose which rooms to use.

The Castle rooms are available to hire throughout the year and there are many of different room hire combinations to suit your individual requirements. Powderham Castle is an extremely flexible venue, we can cater from 2 to 170 guests and if you would like a larger occasion you can even put up a marquee in the deer park.

We can advise on everything from catering, to flowers and music to help you make all the arrangements for your wedding day.
